Kree, you don't have a bread maker?!? OMG! The way you love cooking, I'm amazed.

Well, Miss Chef, needless to say, GO GET ONE! Home made bread is TOO wonderful, and it makes a great gift. I made a loaf once and took it to my fave salon; the gals went crazy, you'd have thought I was giving them each a fortune -- they still talk about it. Not only did they enjoy the taste, but the smell permeated the salon the entire day. People love it when you bake them home made bread. And a bread maker allows you to whip up a loaf so fast and SOOOO easily -- you can experiment with different seasonings -- Kree, you're really missing out, believe me.

Goferit!

Oh I do believe you, and I want one sooo badly. Just one problem... I'm a poor college student and don't have the money. It's a bummer that I didn't see you guys discussing them here until after Christmas, or I would have asked for one!! I even know which one I want, that Breadman... that's the one you have, right? Oh well, someday!

Kree, you need one! Love the bread machine bread. A family member uses it all of the time to make all kinds of breads, not to mention quick pizza dough and (yum!) pitas! Can't beat it as a time-saver, and the results are EXCELLENT!

Next purchase, though: ice cream maker, so I can make IBS-happy gelatos!

Now the ice cream maker I have, and I adore that! Hopefully soon you can get your ice cream maker and I can get my bread machine.

Jen, where did you find them? I love these things, but I can't find them anywhere. (If I have to call long distance and order them shipped to me, I will!)

Thanks,
Bev

Try SnackAisle.com. They have veggie stix and veggie chips. Not sure if they are what you are talking about. I never tried them.

Barbara, you found them! Whoop-De-Doo!!!

Everyone, you gotta try these: Veggie Stix

There's a minimum order of $15 online -- BUT each bag of Veggie Stix costs $1 less than what I paid at Safeway -- and there's no sales tax!

Bless you, Barbara!

Hi, Evie!

I work in Baltimore- right on Charles Street at Verizon. Glad to see someone else local, too. Don't know if you're interested, but we're going to try to start a support group in the area. I'm trying to get interested people to touch base on the Support Group boards, just so we can see how much interest there is and figure out what to do! If you're interested, "stop by!" I may end up taking the lead on getting the group together. (Oy! )

Anyway, I like Columbia. I grew up there. But I'm hoping to move back downtown at some point. I've lived in Mt Vernon and over by Canton/"Upper Fells Pt" (ok, it was right near the park, but that area can be sketchy, so I preferred to say Canton/Upper Fells! ).

I forgot all about applesauce! Love it! And God bless those nack packs and the fruit-flavored applesauce! They make it so easy! And I'm going to make some honey rice chex tonight when I get home. Sounds yummy.

You say you're having trouble with bread?? I think I am, too! Sounds like we have a lot in common. I just got a negative celiac test, but think I may actually insist on the fecal test and/or the biopsy, 'cause when I stopped eating wheat last week I noticed a drastic improvement.

Where are you in Bmore?

-- Gee, thanks. What a nice post.

This is a great place to "natter" (as Linz puts it); if I'm an inspiration, as you say, it's only because everyone here has inspired ME. I've gotten so much better since I came on board.

Thanks again, Barbara.

Hey Jen!

No oops. You're not expected to be on these boards 24/7!

You got Veggie Stix at Safeway? That's where I found them originally. I was just about to order them online, but now I'm thinking I might return to Safeway and ask them why they've stopped carrying them; maybe I can talk them into re-stocking them.

However, did you notice that they're $1.00 cheaper per bag online? If I order 100 bags, then I save a hundred dollars! Maybe I can get a standing order whereby they send me a hundred bags every week .....
