My gastro dr. just suggested I try Klonopin to see if it will help w/the anxiety. My psy. dr. said it was worth trying.I have been trying to follow the diet and get exercise but the tightness in my stomach has been such a constant problem.
Anyway,I started the Klonopin two days ago and I am seeing a big change.I feel so much better.I knew anxiety was a growing factor in my condition and am so glad to have something to help it.I've tried relaxation techn. and massage but they have a very short term affect.
Anyone else, have ideas about this.

I have been taking Klonopin for a few months now and it totally helps me. Not sure if it helps the IBS so much as the panic I would get when I would start to feel pains in my stomach. Whatever it does, it helps me.

Su,

It's been awhile, but I took Klonopin when I was younger - then for a seizure-type disorder, but it helped with the anxiety stuff, too. The only thing that I didn't like about the med was that it made me gain a LOT of weight. I'm currently taking Trazodone (deseryl) which is a combo of sleeping pill, anti-depressant, and an anti-anxiety drug, which I like a lot better.

I wish you the best.
