I need to know if the Soy Garden Natural Buttery Spread has guar gum in it. For those of you who are lucky enough to be able to find it, can you read the ingredients and see if it contains guar gum? Thanks!

I don't see any guar gum. Here's what is in it though, just in case:

NON-GMO Ingredients: Expeller-Pressed Natural Oil Blend (soy, palm & olive), filtered water, pure salt, natural flavor (derived from corn, no MSG, no alcohol, no gluten), crushed soybeans (defatted), soy lecithin, lactic acid (non-dairy derived from sugar beets), natural annatto color.

I just have one question now: What does NON-GMO mean? There isn't any other types of ingredeints (or GMO) listed. Weird.

Mags,
Non-GMO means the ingrediants are not genetically modified ie tampered with at the design stage. It's just letting you know. I don't know if you're all as hot on these products as in the UK, but we are very anti them here in the UK so it's important to know. (They're described as Frankenstein foods here)

Thanks for the info. I had never heard of it before. So, (and maybe I'm being dense here, but please bear with me ) are you anti Non-GMO? I would think Non would be a good thing, more natural.

I don't know...maybe I'm reading it wrong. It has been a long day....

Karin - I found mine at the Save-Mart in the produce section where they have all the soy meats.

No Non-GMO is a good thing. I actually thought it always referred to no hormones added. But she is right it is a good thing not to have the product genetically altered.

I bought Soy Garden the other day at Trader Joe's. I like it. But has anyone else noticed how salty it is????
