I tried to do a search but it came up for regular chocolate too!
I was wondering if white chocolate is safer that the others? I know that it is not considered real chocolate cause it's not the same and you can give some white chocolate to animals and not kill them so... is it safer for us too? I know that you really have to watch white chocolate for whey and casin cause they sometimes slip that into so of their white chocolates.
I'm having a wicked craving:}

they are all high in fat and fat is one of the biggest triggers. If you want to have a teeny tiny bit of chocolate use dark............it doesn't have milk in it. Make sure you do this only after having lots of soluble fiber in your tummy. I could never figure out why people would want to eat white chocolate. It's almost pure cocoa butter with none of the beneficial phenols in it that dark cocoa/chocolate has.
If it's cravings you have, make a cup of hot cocoa with 100% cocoa, sugar and rice or soy or oat or almond milk. Yum! Or, check the recipe index on the recipe exchange forum for lots of yummy low/no fat brownie recipes.
One of the great things about this diet is that you don't have to give up chocolate if you make it low, low fat!

I thought that white chocolate doesn't have any cocoa in it and I heard that dark chocolate is a laxative!

All I know is that white chocolate has a whole lot of milk in it. I don't touch the stuff!

Kandee, you said, "I could never figure out why people would want to eat white chocolate." Well, I'll help you out here.
A lot of people are allergic to caffeine, and chocolate is a no-no because of its caffeine content. I have a friend who loves chocolate as much as I do, but can ONLY eat white chocolate because it contains no caffeine. She doesn't have IBS, and is skinny as a rail. Her attitude is, "screw the fat content!"

You're right. White chocolate doesn't have any cocoa. And as far as cocoa being a bowel stimulant I believe you are referring to the fact that caffeine can be a stimulant and yes, cocoa has some caffeine in it. If you look at the chart below you'll see that dark chocolate has 20 mill. of caffeine per one ounce (plus all the unwanted fat) yet a cocoa beverage only 6.

If you're trying to avoid both an option might be to try carob. It has a slightly different taste but one you can get used to.

When I am having a chocolate craving I have carob chips. they look like chocolate chips. You need to eat then with a carob don't eat alot of them because they will give you gas carb is a bean. It is a great chocolte substitute i buy them in a health food store. My sister also has IBS and is a chocolate freak and she is satisfied with the carob chips. It also comes in powder for cooking.

YES! "White chocolate is basically cocoa butter and milk and sugar. Still want some?" It's really too bad, and kinda sick, but the unadulterated truth is, YES! I LOVE the stuff! Now, if you ask WILL I? That's a different story. Most definitely NO.

I personally can't stand the stuff, can't stand working with it, either. I hate when I get an order that's "all white chocolate, please!" (It doesn't cover as nicely as milk and semi-sweet chocolates do. If people overhear me cursing in the kitchen, they always say "working with white today!? )
BUT I know people who love white chocolate LOVE white chocolate! That's great. That's what makes the world go 'round... our differences. But it was enlightening to me to read the ingredients. I don't care for cocoa butter! Maybe that's why I don't like white chocolate? Who knows.
To each her own. I'm GLAD people like white chocolate! Why? A) It leaves more semi-sweet for me! B) Then they buy white chocolate and I will get rich. Rich I say! Muahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!
