Thrift shops are a haven for cooking/baking items. I've picked up so many nice, new pieces, if you are patient you will find anything you need.

Great ideas Jen, I was thinking the same thing but also one more factor...........if you have no vehicle, or money period, how do you make do?

There are a lot of things around the home that can be used....Empty food cans make good baking pans as long as they are clean and greased. If you have a broiler pan to your oven, there is your cookie sheet. If you make homemade bread it doesn't have to be made in a loaf pan...you can make "rounds" or "long french type" loaves, and if you squinch aluminum foil up around the edges you can make fairly decent baking pan. And BTW, kneading bread is a great way to take out your frustrations.

In other words, don't throw anything out. Save it and pretend you're on your own Survivor show.

Another thing, Sommer, make friends fast........You can always borrow what you need.

Or dumpster dive...LOL

On a personal note, when I was first married we had a bed (with no frame) and only a sofa but no end tables, coffee table, etc. I saved some sturdy large cardboard boxes and either covered them with discontinued pre-pasted rolls of $1 a roll wall paper or draped them with very inexpensive colorful fabric, some of that fabric was clothing I no longer could wear. I made pillows and stuffed them with old clean pantyhose. And, oh my, so many other things I can't remember now since it was so long ago.

Sometimes when you are the poorest, you get the most creative, and the self satisfaction can be tremendous for the ego, not to mention keeping your mind off the IBS.

Oops - I always forget how much of a city girl I am! Well, if you live in a city, then just take a nice long walk. Great way to meet new neighbors too!

If you don't, then I guess that rules that out. Maybe make a new friend and then ask them if they want to go garage saling with you.

I think Sommer is looking for baking pans to cook her IBS safe meals in and she's a bit short on money so someone mentioned garage sales might have some cheap cookware.
