Well Hello Everyone! I am new to this Message Board and have enjoyed reading everyone's input. It feels so good to not be alone in this adventure! That is what I call it, an adventure because what else can I do.

I have been diagnosed for about fifteen years and just over the past few I have been able to maintain my symptoms.

I have taken on the "what the heck" attitude and do what I want, of course, keeping restrooms in mind. If people wonder what's up when I have an attack, I tell them point blank. Why hide it?

So if IBS-D isn't enough to keep you at home lets pile on something as embarrasing as a painful case of hemmoroids. But what is troubling me is that over the past few months I have went from always having IBS-D to IBS-C and an increase in bloating. I recently had a scope and all they could find was diverticulitis but I don't think that is the culprit. I haven't changed my eating habits but the bloatation is so uncomfortable.

So I two questions here:
1. bloating advice?
2. why is it when I have an attack I am hungry afterwards?

Welcome. Fennel tea is good for bloating. There are lots of posts about this so feel free to read up on it. Hunger after an attack - I don't know. It could have to do with the timing of your attacks in relation to the last time you ate. For example, my attacks are usually 3 hours or so after I eat something. About the time between breakfast and lunch. Have the attack, time to eat lunch. Know what I mean? It could just be your stomach's way of telling you - hey - lost all the food you gave me before - give me more.

Thank you so much, Hansolo, for your response. I will definitely try the fennel tea. Nowadays, when I have a bout it is usually within an hour of eating, so I know food is a contributing factor but I usually prep myself with Immodium or something like it.
