I'm fairly new to IBS, still figuring out what I can and can't eat. I've always liked pasta, so i'm glad that it's ok. But what i'm wondering about is chicken products, like popcorn chicken and chicken nuggets that you would buy at the store, throw in the oven and eat... are those ok? I'm a college student that really doesn't have time or the money to make any real detailed recipies and I love my chicken!

I've never eaten those things, so I don't know -- but aren't they deep-fat fried? Check the ingredients on the box, the total calories, and especially the fat content.
Instead -- why not make a big batch of your favorite EASY TO MAKE chicken recipe on a Saturday or Sunday, then put each piece in an individual Zip-Loc freezer bag, toss them in the freezer, and then you have them on hand for during the week!

Popcorn chicken and chicken nuggets are full of fat - the worst IBS trigger. Here's a quick and easy way to make your own: (also less expensive in the long run) Buy boneless or bone in chicken breasts. Buy bread crumbs from the deli (really cheap) Dip the chicken pieces in low or non fat mayo and then dip in bread crumbs. Bake on a cookie sheet coated with cooking spray at 425 until done. (the smaller the pieces the less time it takes). They are yummy, tender, easy and cheaper than fast food! Make up a batch on Sunday and have a few pieces every day - it keeps great in the fridge for several days.

My supermarket carries a line of packaged cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts that are great. I don't enjoy cooking so that's a healthy quick alternative for me. They're in the meat section right next to the fresh chicken. I think they're Purdue, but probably lots of different brands make them.
Good luck!!

Are these pieces big? The only frozen chicken available at the grocery store here are full chicken breasts, can I defrost them and cut them into smaller pieces befor I bread them?
