I have been taking magnesium citrate supplement at night before bed with water. I have IBS constipation without the mag. The problem is that I have a lot of bowel gripes during the night and see hours of morning. I wonder if I should take the mag with food, but I do not do well eating right before bed....so then I wonder if I should take it in the morning? What do y'all do?
I have a lot of back pressure and pain and discomfort during the night and then during the day with my first bite of eating at every meal I get what feels like rectal spasms and back pressure. Is this the IBS stuff. And I might have just a bit if gas but until it passes will feel rectal fullness.
It is sort of making me feel crazy!!!
I have already gotten help here with diet, and I am slowly incorporating the tummy fiber now...and so now I wonder how to correctly for my magnesium. Any help greatly appreciated!!

Yah, the mag citrate or mag oxide will cause diarrhea, but would help constipation in tolerable amounts. It says on the Calm brand to take it at night I believe so it doesn't really cause people diarrhea, which would cause food malabsorption. So, you did start taking the peppermint caps mentioned in your other post three times a day? Drinking how much water/day 8-10C, or even up to 16C for really slow constipation per one of the newsletters on this site.
