Today it happened again. I did have an examination and my mindset was ok. I did not feel much stress but then.. 1hour before I had to leave, D attacks. I had to go a few times to the toilet but had to leave for the bus (coach?). 1 hour traveling with the fear of D attacks.. I keep on telling myself in the bus, everything will be fine.. and as always, nothing happened except for the stress which bring this moments. When I am at the location I have to go to the toilet a couple of times again.. I totally failed the examination.. went home, traveling without problem and no D attacks again.
I did the hypno sessions and they helped a lot. But how to deal with these moments. It's in my mind. I know.. I am feeling so much better already but I would love to stay in the relax 'mode', or well not having the D attacks before leaving for the bus before examination. I used to have this moments also before I went by bus to other things. Going into town, to friends and other nice things. That didn't happened anymore for the last 15 times. :-) So I hoped I was cured from this..
Do you recognise this kinda problems and how do you deal with it? Thanks for reading.

Oh Sassie!!
I feel so badly for you!
It will be better to have a much closer examination. I hope that your D attacks STOP now!!
What measures have you taken to help your situation besides the hypno tapes?
-------------------- Originally diagnosed with IBS-C in Spring, 2008. During spring to fall of 2008, had at least 10 acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs. IBS went into remission. IBS returned in late July 2013 after taking 2 oral contrasts for a CT scan for cancer follow up. Had more acupuncture with different practitioner in summer 2014, but received little benefit.

Thank you Candy. The examination is just not closer. They have 10 locations where I can do the examination.
I also eat EFI. Don't drink coffee. I use the fibres, try to relax more. That all together helps my ibs problems.
How are you doing Candy?

Sometimes you can have an extended time where the mind-body aspect of IBS goes away after using the hypnotherapy, and then it returns. This happens at times due to what is called 'shadow fears' and over time, will usually go away.
You may want to go thru the hypno sessions again if you can and many times this will help reinforce the new neural pathways that will help you dis-associate travel, exams, leaving home, etc. with IBS attacks.
Also, reading, writing and 're-living' anything regarding IBS just reinforces it for some people - tho I know it is hard not to look for support, etc. so it is understandable. But at some point, it may be something to consider so you can break the connection - it can be done as you have shown, so please do not get discouraged by this - many folks have gone thru temporary relapse from time to time - dont give up hope! Hope that helps... all the best to you.

Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for your advice. I'll start the hypnose cd again and I'll stop reading, and re-living things again. I think you're right that that doesn't help a lot.
Maybe I just had to read that again.
thanks!
