After an attack?

I am currently suffering again the after effects of an attack. I am quite sure this is the result of my foolishly eating wild rice in a soup several days ago.

The day after I began the symptoms and I knew I was in trouble! For me, I of course start with my multiple trips to the bathroom, cramping, etc...but, then for days after I can barely function because of the soreness, terrible heart palpitations, dizziness, pains which travel (I swear I can feel what I eat and where it is moving).

I have now been on a strict diet of toast, pasta, potatoes and a little chicken or turkey breast. I swear nothing seems to help and I can bear the pains with my stomach and tolerate the trips to the bathroom, but, the dizziness or light headed and heart palpitations and feeling hot, then cold (hot flashes?) are really the absolute worst!

I had eaten wild rice before but, this time my life has been under a great deal of stress due to a family crisis and I'm thinking that added to the complication of it all.

Anyone else experience this? How long do your "after effects" last? Any thoughts??

I have had similar attacks numerous times. Usually when I was experimenting to figure out what I could or could not handle The discomfort/pain lasted from a few days to more than 3 weeks. I do exactly as you have done - drop back to a very safe diet until things settle down again.

Good luck

I am also thinking when I am under stress it might be a good time to cut back to a basic diet to prevent this from happening....and also avoiding wild rice:) Thanks, Syl...just helps to know other's experiences.
