Got a doc appt.in a few days but thought I'd see if anyone here has any insight. I started having occasional green bowel momements 2 weeks ago and they become more frequent that last week although I still have brown ones too. This didn't register concern with me at first because I've had green D before and I had told the GI doc about it when I was DX IBS back in 2007. My current green bowel movements have been either normal or constipated. Sometimes they've had yellow in them too. Since yesterday I've noticed that the surface of the toilet water is oily and once it had orange spots. I've look this up and it's a sign of malabsorbtion. I should mention that the green started after I started taking zantac and liquid (generic)mylanta which were prescribed by a ENT for reflux. I stopped the mylanta 2 days ago to see if it was causing the green. So far that hasn't made a difference. Any insight is appreciated. By the way I don't have my gallbaldder and my IBS started after I got it removed in 2007.

Presumably you have Googled 'green stool' and found article like What can cause green stools?. Your doc may have another answer.
Good luck

Yep, I wish it was just the green issue. I'm actually more worried about the orange grease blobs on the toilet water. I had my GB out 5 years ago. I have found posts online about my issues being linked to GB removal but the only posts I find are regarding symptoms like mine right after removal. I feel fine (my usual IBS self) otherwise.

I saw a GI doc last week and I'm having a colonoscopy on 8/21. The symptoms have improved but since I was due for another soon anyway I asked my doc for a referral for peace of mind. The GI doc wasn't concerned about the green or green w/yellow stools. The grease issue only lasted 2 weeks and I asked the GI what could have caused that. He said it's possible that it was caused by stress which increased transit time.
