Has anyone on the board successfully reintroduced dairy back into their diet?
I have been reintroducing food one by one in very small amounts, so far I have been able to eat a small amount of lean beef, lamb & venison, I'm not bothered about pork so haven't tried,
All the above are eaten with lots of safe foods like potatos & veg etc
I only reintroduce one food each week so it is slow going!
I can now have a splash of milk in a cup of tea now without any ill effects but haven't expanded on other dairy products yet & just wondered if anyone else has been able to reintroduce dairy at all?

I think it's pretty individual. I have reintroduced non-fat yogurt and find I can eat it on occasion without problems. But for me, the biggest triggers seem to be red meat and high fat anything. I need to be careful because I gradually introduce foods back in and think everything is going fine until, WHAM, one day I get a bad attack. My body will only take so much until it says 'enough'.
Good luck to you!

I do miss having milk on cereal & I just don't like soy milk, I have bought some Oat milk today (Oatly) so will have a try with that tomorrow morning, I tried rice milk along time ago but didn't like that either,
I had to fend off the attentions of the shop assitant in the health food shop this morning, who apparently knows all about IBS so if I took her advice I'd be filling my face with bran now

I can have very tiny bits of dairy, eg when milkpowder is used in ready-to-eat food, like white bread or so.
I haven't tried larger amounts yet, because during my 'bad' period I already noticed a heavy response towards dairy products (other triggerfood was not so obvious till I found out EFI). Although lactose free yoghurt seemed to be better, but didn't try that again either since dieting.
Very recognisable what luckiest says. When I introduce some food for a few days, it seems to go well. And after a few days BANG I get (heavy) symptoms again, and cannot have any of it anymore..
Really frustrating! Introducing new food is going really slowly, still cannot eat much vegs and none of the triggerfoods

meds: lansoprazol+macrogol
started EFI +FODMAPs 1/2011. 'Relapse' for 8 months. Now partly back on track again with the diet..
