I have not been on these boards in some time. I was diagnosed with IBS several years ago. My occurences come with anxiety attacks. I had been on medicine for those for a while but my doctor and I had tried to ween me from them. I guess I chose the wrong time to do it as I am going through a divorce, am without a job and to top it off I got really sick a couple of weeks ago. I think the stress and the zpack and tylenol I had to take for being sick really did me in. I was able to get through three months without taking the medicine for anxiety. I am having really bad symptoms with my stomach though. Feeling like my stomach is knotting up sometimes from cramping, some D and some C but usually I am C a majority of the time. Right now I have brought out my fennel tea. Please if anyone can give me the short list of things to eat right now while I am having this attack (I am not really eating anything right now). Also what can I drink. Is sugar ok with my tea. I cannot drink it plain. I appreciate your help. I'm looking for my book as we speak.

Have a look at How can I break the cycle of attacks
Sugar with tea ( hopefully herbal or decaffeinated) is fine. Brown and white sugar are not triggers.

If you have not looked into it already, you may want to consider looking here:
http://www.helpforibs.com/hypnosis/
as this can assist with the anxiety components of IBS alongside the other suggestions... for most people, this usually breaks you free of the symptoms. If you have questions, let me know!

Hi -
Take a peek on the inside of the front cover of the booklet - that explains it pretty clearly. It gives you the breakdown of what sessions are listened to on what day - and where those sessions can be found on the 3 therapy CDs.
But to clarify for ya -
>>am i supposed to listen to track 1: introduction and track 2 session one on the 1st day? what does 1/c + 1 mean exactly?..i don't want to mess up!!<<
Yes - On the first day you listen to CD ONE: Both tracks On the schedule it has this:
Day/Session
So 1/c = Day 1 / Commentary Introduction (Track 1) + Session 1 - so essentially you listen to the whole first CD the first day.
>>..also..like on day 14/2, does that mean cd2 track 2? thanks.. <<
No - that means day 14/ session 2 (CD 2 Track 1)
If you have any questions or need further clarification, call 877-898-2539 or go to the healthyaudio.com contact page for assistance.
It looks more complicated than it really is -
CD ONE contains the introduction (C) and session 1 CD TWO contains sessions 2 and 3 CD Three contains sessions 4 and 5
(and of course CD 4 is the IBS Companion to explain to others about IBS and all that the sufferer has to go through, etc.)
Hope this helps! All the best to you in your journey to feeling better, and do contact me or via the above, if you need help along the way!
