i'd love to make a smoothie but even strawberries bother me...is there a safe smoothie if you have trouble with fructose?

You can make smoothies with berries, bananas, kiwi, passion fruit, etc just not mangoes, apples, pears, melons, peaches and other fruits with excess fructose. However, I find that the seeds in berries and kiwis give me problems. If you have the same problem you could mash and strain the berries to remove the pulp and add the juice to the smoothie
Check the first article in my signature for more information about foods with excess fructose.

I have a smoothie every day for lunch, made with a banana and frozen mango.

Unfortunately, mangoes have excess fructose and not safe for individuals with fructose malabsorption because they contain twice as much fructose compared to glucose.

I drink smoothies all the time. I, personally, don't buy into this "fructose" thing, but if you truly feel it is an issue for you, I don't think you can go wrong with bananas.

I don't think there is anything to buy into with the fructose, fructose malabsorption is a real problem that can even be tested, that's almost like saying you don't buy in to IBS. Why dont you think its real?

Try freezing the banana and then blending it with soy/almond/rice milk. The frozen banana makes it nice and creamy, and it actually doesn't taste too strongly of banana.
