Hello, does anyone know of a particular type of birth control (pill, shot, etc) that does not interfere with IBS or cause any problems? Preferably one that is not likely to cause acne or weight gain as well??

IUD (the copper, not the mirena, which has hormones). I'm on my second one and haven't had any problems. I initially got it as a last resort because I couldn't handle the side-effects of the hormonal methods and the other non-hormonal methods are terribly inconvenient. My only regret was not doing it sooner.

I've been on the pill, one called azurette currently and i can't remember the name of the one i took before then, for 6 years, and I've had IBS for probably 3 years (it really didn't start showing its ugly head until 1 year ago). So Im not sure if the pill contributes to anything. I know it cleared up my skin, made menstrual cramps go away for the most part, lighter periods, maybe 5 lb weight gain if anything, however, slight decrease in sexual desire. I've been interested in trying Nuvaring. Any ladies here use it?

I have had really good luck with Kariva. Been using it for years. Menstral week will screw up your system regardless if you are on birth control or not. I do notice occassional bloating the week before my period and a little more constipated too. But I just increase my fiber and water and it gets better.
Hope this helps
