For all other chocolate lovers with IBS...is 70% or more dark chocolate ok to eat? I don't think there is any milk/butter added to it, but just wanted to double check. (And if there is, I might have to have a piece or two every once in a while to keep myself sane!)

Hey JennKenn, this is Ken. For me, an occasional LITTLE piece of extremely dark chocolate is okay, but chocolate in general (no matter how dark) tends to really aggravate my IBS. Test it out and see what happens, as long as you are prepared to have a little backlash in case it doesn't sit well. It may not bother you at all. I would think that if it has little fat, you would have a better chance of it going well.
I believe that cocoa powder is IBS-safe (for most). That's my $0.02.

Make sure to read the ingredients closely. I find the expensive organic chocolate is more tolerated and rarely has dairy. Because it is expensive I tend to go through it more moderately.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
