to take iron pills? I need to know if it's safe because I've been thinking of taking them, and also if it interferes with prescribed medications?

I would not advise anyone about using iron supplements, but I would ask my pharmacist and my physician.

I have horrible experiences with iron supplements. Would rather recommend eating iron-rich food such as spinach for instance. Much better for you all round.

I have been taking iron supplements for years, now I'm actually up to two a day since my iron is ridiculously low.... I have never had any problems with them, but I have only ever taken one kind, Slow Fe (http://www.amazon.com/Slow-Fe-Release-Tablets-90-Count/dp/B000052YTI). I think their slow release aspect really helps make them tolerable, so I've never had to try anything else or had any problems.
