The last 2 times I've taken a peppermint cap I've tasted it about 1 1/2 hours later and had some mild burning in my upper chest. This time was after eating a meal with SF, protein and ISF (and it has not helped at all). The other time was 2 hours after I ate as an experiment. Any ideas of what is up? I do not have heartburn so I thought I'd be safe.

IBS-C Started out of the blue end of May 2010. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and GI problems are pretty common with that. I've been fairly lucky up til now.

I never really had trouble with heartburn either and when I took the peppermint caps I got it too. I would actually be burping a lot and it would taste like peppermint. I thought it might be related to acid reflux or something.

You are supposed to take peppermint caps on an empty stomach.
Read the pinned topic at the top of the board...it explains the how's and why's.
