I have had this pain as long as I can remember but never really had a name for it. I always thought something didn't agree with my stomach! The pain in the past few months has gotten unbearable. Two nights this week I have been unable to sleep because the cramps were so bad. After the episode passes my abdominal muscles are so sore it feels like I did a rigorous workout. I have diverticulosis and am scheduled to have a colonoscopy on the 26th of this month. I have lost 10 lbs in the last month. I am eating only bland foods. Plain baked chicken breasts, soy milk, soy yogurt, I'm even taking bentyl which the doctor gave me and I'm still not having any relief. I have had endometriosis and the GI doc said this could have left scar tissue. I just want to know if there is anything out there that I can eat with some taste and if there is anything that could help with the cramps. The cramps are so bad I compare them to labor contractions. I'm miserable and ill as a snake. Someone please give me some advice. I want to be able to enjoy my children again.

I suggest skipping the soy products for now and switching to rice milk and lots of white rice. Potatoes or sweet potatoes are great. Try spraying with Pam and making oven fries. Good luck.
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
