Dull Ache

A little history. I've been having IBS type symptoms for a good 5 months now I think. I found this site fairly quickly as I'm a google nut, especially when it comes to any illness and started here within the 2nd week I think of symptoms. Shortly after starting the EFI diet and adding in the Tummy fiber, I became stable. I've had, for the most part, regular bowel movements and little to no cramping for 4 months or so.

All of the sudden about 2 weeks ago, I started getting a little crampy again and having this dull ache that stays with me for hours at a time during the day. It's down low, not abdominel I'd say, but for lack of a better way to describe it, between the butt and groin area.

As far as food goes, I'm fairly strict on the EFI diet. I did eat out at a few restaurants, and although I try to be careful about butter and things, who knows what's actually in there. Possibly one of the restaurant meals triggered something.

I went strict on the EFI diet, no restaurants, but the dull ache hasn't left. I switched over to the nothing but rice deal for the last 3 days (yesterday I added some white meat chicken and this morning some egg whites) but that's it and the dull ache is still here.

My typical diet includes white rice or sourdough bread as my SF staple for each meal. List of foods I was eating regularly when I was stable:

Oatmeal with SFS and flax seed for breakfast
Chicken or turkey (white meat) sammich for lunch. White/sourdough bread, mushrooms, roasted squash/zuchhini, sometimes roasted red pepper on the sandwich.
Pho - vietnamese rice noodle soup with white meat chicken for lunch sometimes.
Various recipes out of the EFI cookbook.. curry chicken.
Rice and beans.
Pretzels, carrots, roasted beets for snacks.

I've been taking Align for 2 months now.. not sure if it really helped or hurt.

I've only been on 1 tbsp of acacia fiber per day.. usually 1/2 tbsp morning and night.

My thoughts are possibly the fiber amount? But that worked for months. Another thought is the align probiotic? But I had no problem til now.

I did start taking a multivitamin too about a month ago but stopped that as well a little over a week ago.

Any thoughts suggestions? Is this dull ache normal? Shouldn't it go away again with a good diet?

It could be a trigger point in the psoas muscle- that causes a dull ache in the butt/groin area adn it common in those with IBS. try googling it for a picture of the muscle and commone trigger point sites.
Feel better:)

This may not have anything to do with IBS. If you've been having a new kind of pain for more than a week, I think you should talk to your doctor about it.

It's not necessarily new. It feels very similar to what I had before starting the diet. I'm just surprised it's back at this point and I'm having a hard time making it go away again.
