There seems to be a lot of questions about how to add SFS and IF to your diet so I'd thought I'd share some ways I've found to do this. If anyone interested I blog at http://saynotocomplex.blogspot.com/. Mostly I cover easy recipes for the office and although they are specifically for IBSers they are do follow the EFI guidelines.

Smmothies

A good way to start your day and can be made with soy, rice. almond or aot milk. There's also hemp milk but I don't know how that features in EFI. Mine are banana based with a few berries flung in for IF.

Soups make for a excellent office or home lunch. i bought a $20 slow cooker from Canadian Tyre and all I do is add a carton of stock, add some yams (this is the base of the soup so we're talking 2 mid size yams)with some carrots, leeks or tomatoes with pepper ans herbs. Really it's just a medly of whatevers in the fridge.

Baked potatoes

Once the potato is cook I usually add in some chicken, mushroom and/or leeks mixed up with barbecue sauce.

Roasted veg

Couldn't be easier. I just chop up some yam or squash sparya it with oil and roast at 425 degrees for 25 or so minutes. Tasty and a good way to get SF into your system.

Snacks

I also either make my own apple sauce (easy recipe can be found in the EFI book) or buy it from the grocery store. There's also snack packs with apple and strawberry or peach if you need more IF.

I also use the bread and cake recipes from the EFI guidelines. I also baked from a book called Red velvet and chocolate heartache which does low fat and almost sugar free cakes. You will have to buy a set of scales for this one as it's a British book and all the measurements are in grams.

Porridge - also know as oatmeal - is a nice mid morning snack.

Hope this helps.

Was wondering, for those of us light cookers.
I can make a smoothee...but what products in a grocery store can I get which can help me get the fiber I need.

-Any safe soups or roasted veges?
