In this newsletter Heather says "Tea is not a safe replacement beverage, however; both black and green teas contain caffeine (problematic for IBS) and tannins (not good for reflux)." And she goes on to say in this newsletter "Green teas, especially decaffeinated versions, are often much more tolerable. Green tea is also phenomenally good for your overall health, so if you can tolerate the decaf variety, particularly blended with an IBS-helpful tea like fennel or peppermint, it's well worth drinking."

Thanks Syl for the link to the newsletters, they have been helpful in making my decisions about what to do. Do you know if we can take fish oil safely? I think you had asked me before about my levels...my total cholesterol is 299 and the LDL is 142..so I have some work to do in 6 months because I am not going to take more medications if I can help it...
And fortunately I am able to eat fish safely....

Some people can handle fish oil others cannot. I cannot
Yep - a little bit of work to do to decrease those values. Exercise, weight loss and diet are the most effective ways to decrease the levels.

I am able to tolerate decaf green tea. I can also tolerate white tea, which has similar antioxident properties.
