When I first started taking fiber (psyllium), I noticed an improvement the very next day. As advertised, it bulked up my stool and subsequently decreased my BM's (got down to 2 a day from 3 or 4). This lasted for a few weeks but now things are reverting back. My stools are loose and frequency of BM's is up.

I don't know what to make of this. Is this normal...has my system just developed a tolerance? I've had similar experiences with other things I tried, primarily Questran/Cholestyramine that worked for a week and then it was like my system found a way around it.

I use psyllium and have for many years. It is not a magic bullet.

As far as frequency, I have difficulties myself.

As far as loose stools, in addition to psyllium, you might try cream of rice cereal which seems to help make my stools firm.

Cheers

I buy it by subscription (12 boxes every 2 months) on amazon. VERY GOOD DEAL this way - less than $2 a box with free delivery. I share it with my girl friend every morning and sometimes at supper.

You can use a credit card or a debit card.

Well, I guess my reply would be, if the item is store specific, how is Capricorn who is in CA, going to know about your store in the Dakotas. Just a simple observation.

And yes, it would most likely be in the cereal isle.

The only way you will know for sure, if it is in "your" store is to check it out, when you are there.

I don't know. It's hard for me to find in stores. We have only 1 store I know of called Pavillions where they usually have it.

You can buy one box online. $2.99 + shipping:
