My understanding (from a gastro) is that ibs-d is having more than 3 bms in a day and ibs-c is having no bms in a day for one or more consecutive days. does anyone have different definitions than this?

does iba-a consist of alternating periods of ibs-d and ibs-c as described above?

She may need medical attention, but she does not need critical, judgmental posts like that.

This post started off as fair questions, and then it went back to the same thing that gets posted and re-posted again and again. I believe if something is not working for us, then we need to try something else, including seeing a doctor. When we keep doing the same thing over and over again, we cannot expect different results (progress).

You seem to be doing well and I do enjoy reading your posts.

I do agree with that; to get different results you have to do something different.
