You would really do well having a colonoscopy, and then you would know for sure if you have IBS and/or hemorrhoids. Using your finger is no doubt aggravating everything. I would suggest that you not probe with your fingers in an attempt to self-diagnose and/or alleviate your symptoms. You could actually do damage and/or make things worse.

everyone. The reason I HAVE to use my finger,If I don't use my finger It stays stuck in there and irritates me all day and makes me feel ill. The bm's stuck behind the piece I let stay stuck in my side if I don't use my finger, don't come out then if I go to work I just want to cry I feel so sick. I'm going to try a better way such as buying gloves and distilled water. HOpefully then I will break the cycle of irritation where my incomplete evacuation gets better. I think many ppl know when they have hemmoirds and self treat it.

Using your finger is not healthy! You can cause yourself damage!

You must see a doctor and get advice on how to handle your GI problems correctly.

external hemmoroids are easily treated by a proctologist nowadays. they use very tiny rubber bands and wrap them around the individual hemmoroids to choke them to fall off into the bowl. i had this done in the doctors office. it worked great. internal ones cannot be handled in this way.

what do you mean? If I am careful what could I possibly do my finger is small...I mean ppl get stools largert than their finger. someone told me,forgot who but its ok and for ppl with ibs and ppl in wheelchairs and their doctor said it won't cause damage.

maybe I should try suppositorys for a while. What is the most gentle? if my stool is mushy and gets stuck inside does it just force it out?

Inregards to your bum,It is designed for things to come out...not go in.
You may scratch yourself which could lead to infection and other possible injuries .
I could understand if this only happens once in a while but I see it happens alot. You should think about something else to do.

You said you have one stuck then behind that it is fine?
That kinda sounds like IBS-A to I think....jump in anyone if I am wrong.

It sounds like you are a little constipated followed by d.You could always try a suppository to soften the stool at the end and make it easier to come out.

HTH bit

aperson, you really DO need to see a medical doctor. No insurance is no excuse, as people in your financial position can apply for free medical care in your state (North Dakota). It's up to you to take the initiative through your local Social Services Department. Do you want to get well and get on with a more meaningful life?

well the first stools,my first bm after I wak up are not hard but are usually a good consistency and come out fine, its because what is left in me before I go to work comes down and out in the morning after I wake up and I think that causes it to harden more cause it stayed in ther all night. Then I can go then some comes out then the rest is stuck it can be any consistency usually softer or mushy and almost d that gets stuck in there. if I don't get it out it stays stuck and irritates. After I get it out, I go sit back down and relax then I get the urge and go to the bathroom some comes out while some gets stuck. If I don't pull the stuck stuff out I start to feel just awful and worse. If I soften the stool more after my first bm in the morning..then I will have D or get more mushy stuff in me and not get solid good bm's. I don't want to take the change of not well formed bm's for several days if I use a suppository. What do you think about flaxseed or flax oil can that help?

aperson, again you really DO need to see a doctor for proper testing and diagnoses of whatever is wrong. From there you can begin to feel better by focusing on what you really need to help the symptoms of what you actually have been properly and appropriately diagnosed with medically.

I agree with Windchimes. This is becoming a pattern... long threads in which it seems like the best answer is to get yourself to a doctor, aperson. I know you have seen them and had tests when you were in high school... but it's been awhile since then, and barium enemas, x-rays, and blood tests aren't exactly the best tests to diagnose IBS, and it sounds like you really need the one-on-one with an expert of how to individually treat YOU.
