My mom claims more tummy problems from crock pots, gas stoves and certain cookware. I don't know about that.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

It's hard to associate a food with a mood because less than an hour I wake up in the morning the bathroom problems start. I can say I feel tired and crabby even though I woke up feeling rested.

aperson, did you watch the vidoe I posted from DFr Drossman?

You should atchg that.

You don't have toassociate foods and moods, both are seperate, just how you feel each day or at times of the day.

Mornings can be bad for IBSers because of the chemical cortisol, which is a stress chemical, but also used to wkae up your digestion in the mornings.

When you wake up how soon do you think about your gut?

I don't really think about my gut when I'm waking up, I just go to make my tea as soon as I get out of bed because I feel so full of gas and uncomfortable.

I'd say soon after getting up because it acts up right away. While I notice it,I am more relaxed for a while. I'd say within 15minutes of getting out of bed my ibs is full blown acting up with gas and uncomfortable, then soon the bathroom problems start I feel crappy all day.

Part of the vicious cycle.

Do you do anything to counter anxiety?

I'm so sorry. Today I feel not only did I let myself down,I feel I let the people who take the time and effort to help me down. I basically started my food diary and stopped. I had alot of stress today. I ate alot of foods I liked that aren't safe, which is lots dairy, fat and redmeat. So I will go find my own way and will let you know when I stay on diet and see improvement.

actually not just today most of this week.

Aperson, we all make mistakes and fall of the wagon,so to speak, but you seem to do it consistently. If you want to be well you need to make a consistent effort. McDonald's junk food is not going to do it for you. That wouldn't even work for someone who does not have IBS. It is just junk, pure and simple.

I am not being mean to you, just pointing out that you seem to do this often. You didn't let us down, you let yourself down. You say you had stress today, well that is the perfect time to really keep track of everything. That in itself, could be one of your anwsers...that stress itself causes you to veer from your path. Things don't always go good for many of us, but you have to continue to make the effort to stick with good food.

Gerikat is right its not us per se but doing things that upset your gut. Stress can be a major factor for symptoms on top of junk food is asking for trouble.

Again I am concerned in that you need a good doctor. Some people can even benefit from psycological help, nt that your crazy or anything, buit they can teach you ways to reduce stress and worry and get your feet back on the ground.

Listen to your body and what it is telling you.

This too is being mean or anything its really important. You can feel better.
