There is a breath test but sometimes doctors don't use the test instead they simply eliminate high fructose foods from the diet and see there is an improvement. I have not had a test but dietary restriction of fructose dramatically improved my IBS symptoms.

I have troubles with squash. I can only eat very small amounts of squash at a time.
