So you know how the story goes.. I heard about this stuff from one of the moms on my sons soccer team and since I don't know her that well I figured I'd ask for some reviews. The pictures of what comes out of your colon are almost too wild to be true .. http://www.drnatura.com/picture_gallery.html .. Hopefully I don't have strings of miniature hot dogs coming out of my colon.. I don't feel that clogged... Has anyone personally tried this product? I'm kind of skeptical about new products because I've tried stuff that doesn't work soo many times. In the last few months I've lost a ton of weight and I'm feeling really energetic lately. While I was losing the weight I was using power cleanse along with acai nutriburst and had amazing results. I'm just thinking that DrNatura might help me flush out anything that power cleanse left behind.. (If there is anything..) You can read my blog post on when I was on the acai berry and power cleanse diet - http://www.helensdiary.com Also another thing to consider is I'm a lot more active than I was before I lost the weight.. I don't want to have any problems with diarrhea or farting in public. Thanks in Advance! ;-) Helen

You might find this article on the NYU Medical School web site Colon Cleansing: Don't Be Misled by the Claims about the perils and false claims about colon cleansing.
Good luck .

From what I have read extensively on this subject, I have come to the following conclusions. If you suffer from a parasite, a cleanse can be helpful to rid oneself of these. Some cleanses are gentle and some are quite harsh. Some work for all parasites, and some do not.
IBS sufferers do not typically have a parasitic infestation, even as a secondary diagnosis. Therefore colon cleanses are totally a waste of money and can actually make IBS worse. If you have any doubts about having a parasite (or parasites), a stool test ordered by a medical doctor can determine whether or not you have any gastroinestinal parasites.
IBS requires keeping the colon calm and clean in the process of daily living. This is dietary, and avoiding flare-ups also involves keeping the stress level down. While we cannot control all known stressors in life, we can eliminate many of them. Sometimes this even goes so far as to dismiss 'friends' who tend to stress us out with their problems and criticisms of everything and everyone, including us. Gossip is common in workplaces among gossips and meddlers, and sometimes also so in social groups. Choose your friends wisely and judiciously, and avoid being eaten alive by those who might well cause you harm one way or another.

Good job, Syl...
Colon cleanses are absolutely not necessary, except the night prior to a colonosopy. This is necessary so that the doctor technician gets a very clear view of all inside tissues to eliminiate the possibility of polyps or tumors.
What is seen in these photos is NOT what comes out of a colon with a cleanse. These photos appear to be dehydrated and rehydrated vegetables connected by some type of glue goo. This is a joke and lie.
Eat healthy, pump that soluable fiber and you will have a clean colon. After awhile, there won't even be any stool on the TP following a 'normal' bowel movement.
I still am moritified by the greedy sales pitches that are false and might actually even harm people, particularly those of us who have IBS and have at times felt somewhat desperate for answers.
I say, stay away from colon cleanse products advertised on the internet! It's a crock of BS, never mind a waste of money. Spend the money on Heather's products instead and remain faithful to using them, even when you're feeling good.

I have had several. Not this particular one. I can't say that it affected me one way or the other. It's personal choice like all things in life.

There is this myth out there that there is years worth of yucky in your digestive tract. But when you prep for a colonoscopy you see how little is in there and how 'fresh' it is. My sis recently bought a colon cleansing product and was taken in by the claims. She said it really worked, she even had goopy stuff come out, i.e. the product was so harsh not only did it get her poo out but followed with mucus! And she was too uninformed to know that was what it was and how bad that was.
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I wondered the same thing but the more i thought about it the more I wondered what is it they put IN it to make that STUFF come out.I think Syl told me it was clay.
That makes sense.I have IBS d and I think I get cleaned out just fine every few days.
Without needing any extra help.

Thanks Little Minnie for your agreement here. Whether the public knows it or not, some of these colon cleanses actually contain parasite infestations (worm eggs) to infest a person with the parasite and one is mortified to see these hatched eggs come out the other end. YES, it is true!
I say stay away from colon cleanses altogether except when prescribed by a medical doctor as a pre-op cleanse before a colonoscopy is performed the following mornng. You are right, Minnie, all that came out of me was water and very little anything else. I didn't even need to drink the entire gallon of solution the night before and this was confirmed the following morning. I was found 'squeaky clean' and no problems other than 'spastic colon' which as we all know by now is not a disease but rather a functional disorder that we have learned how to care for.
