What are you eating for IF now? For example, do you peel carrots before you cook them. If yes, then try leaving the peels on which will increase IF.

There are lots of IF choices...I guess you just have to try them out to see if you tolerate them. Here's a few I eat, in addition to the ones you mentioned:

- Apples
- Oatmeal
- Peas
- Beans (Chickpeas, black beans, pinto)
- Barley
- Corn

Have you tried squash? There are many varities. What about eggplant? There is so much IF out there. You just have to experiment to see what you can tolerate.

There are no vegetables or fruits that are 100% soluble fiber.

Insoluble fiber is found in the cell walls of all plants and their fruits. It gives the cell structural integrity. For example, the peel on the outside of the carrot is there to protect the plant from things like moisture. It is mostly made of insoluble fiber. If it were made of soluble fiber it would dissolve in the moisture and the plant couldn't survive.

People with IBS-D frequently peel veggies like carrots to remove some of the insoluble fiber they contain.

Carrots are safe because when they are peeled and cooked until soft they tend to contain more soluble fiber than insoluble fiber. If you leave the peel on and eat them raw then carrots contain more insoluble fiber than soluble fiber.

ok thanks for sharing I was eating peeled apples on an empty stomach and regular carrots. SYl do you have a food processor? I wanted to ask questons about them because I want to buy one. Any recipe that calls for fruits and vegtables for example a pasta recipe I want to make calls for a frozen pea and carrot mix.. could I just cook them then puree them in the food processor and dump on the noodles or would they turn to water?

I have a food processor but I don't use it very often. There is no reason why you cannot boil some frozen and fresh veggies until soft, blend them and then put them on noodles. You might add a little tomato paste, salt pepper and spices to give it more flavor. Before you buy a food processor see if you try someone else's food processor to give a try and see if you like it.
