I take Librium for anxiety and also immodium as needed. I was just wondering if Lomotil would be ok to take instead of immodium. Sometimes it seems to work better as anyone took these two meds Librium/Lomotil together?

Haven't taken those two together but have taken donnatal (a anti-spasm med) with Lomotil. I used to use Imodium much more though as it wasn't prescription and felt it was better for me in the long run. Lomotil I saved for when i really needed extra help! Now I take Lotronex once a day and don't need other things. Maybe someone else has had experience with the two you are taking. Sandy

I see you take Lotronex, have you had any bad side effects? My doctor has brought it up to me but a little nervouse about it. I don't have diarrhea but urgent loose bowel movements even if they are not loose they are urgent. Did this med help with those issues safely?

Hi,
I was nervous taking it also but was on my way for a trip to Disney with my family and didn't want to be stuck in the bathroom for my morning routines. (not D either but lots of volume and urgency). Lotronix takes away the urgency for the most part. At first I was a little C, not going every day but now my body has adjusted better. I don't go as much, and I don't always go in the morning. If I have to go, it's not like I have to find a bathroom RIGHT NOW. I can hold it, which is totally new for me!
I think you need to be careful with it but I also think the risks were overblown a bit. Hope that helps! I am on a low dose, .05 mg a day.
Sandy

Pharmacist and doctor both say they are safe to take together.
