I have been taking a pill once a day for about three weeks now. About 45 minutes after taking the pill, I get a peppermint taste in my mouth. Does this mean I have taken the pill correctly?

Yes, you have taken it correctly. You might be experiencing some acid reflux (GERD). The peppermint can definitely cause a flare in acid reflux. I used to take it as well, but the GERD was too bad! I even take protonix and the reflux was just too much for me to handle!
It's good to take it before every meal, like the directions say, but if it is causing this, you may want to check out some of the posts about the peppermint caps.

Heather has a post in the beginning of these message boards about how to take them. Make sure you take one capsule an hour before you eat on an empty stomach. You basically want to take them an hour away from food. If you are taking acid lowering drugs, make sure you take the peppermint caps about 2 hours away from the medication.
