I would just like to reiterate on this post as I have had a similiar experience. I was told by a naturopath that I was gluten intolerant and followed this diet for 5 years with mixed results. I discovered this site and it sounded like me exactly so have been on Heather's diet for 6 months. I ended up having a colonoscopy and other related tests 2 weeks ago and saw a fabulous gastro specialist. Turns out the amitriptyline I am taking for fibromylagia has been causing my tummy symptoms not food or anything else and the high soluable fibre diet was making me worse. Now I'm weaning off the meds, eating lots of fibre including wheat bread and lots of fruit and vegetables and have never felt better!
Thank you Heather for your help but please tell everyone to seek medical attention and not self-diagnose!
