When I first developed IBS I was still basically having normal movements and normal urges, but now after 7 years I never get urges to go when im out and about and if i dont spend 1-2 hrs relaxing in the morning before I leave my house I wont go all day. When im with people or traveling I pretty much wont go at all unless i take a strong laxative or load up on natural calm. why has my colon function changed so much? will I ever be able to get things back to normal or am i gonna have to live like this for the rest of my life? My constipation isnt the result of inadequate amts of fiber, but its a result of GI spasms..i believe its called spastic constipation...the muscles just lock up on me. its triggered by foods, stress and even flying on a plane will trigger the spasms

HI, Jason. You sound like me. Most days I go, but I also get pain and spasms and bloating most days as well. I get em driving, shopping, or anywhere else that my anxiety kicks in. It sucks. I'm in horrific pain right now, as a matter of fact. I'm sorry I can't help you very much, but just know that you are not the only one out there with these problems. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Try Miralax once/day (talk to your dr. first of course) that's what I do, and I usually have a normal BM (except today), but the spasms don't go away with Miralax, just the C.

Feel Better, Soon
HUGS!
