GF diet study
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Unless you have someone in your family that struggles with Celiac on a daily basis, I would have to say, stick the so-called studies where the sun don't shine. One speck of gluten makes my sis extremely ill, so gut-flora or no gut-flora, she will never consume gluten again in this life-time.

I think then, the natural next step would be to take supplemental probiotics. For instance, B.lactis bacteria inhibits the toxic effects induced by wheat gliadin. In studies I've read, the majority of celiac disease patients' anti-saccharomyces cerevisial antibodies (ASCA's)disappeared during a gluten-free diet. Whatever works...........
