I am new to the site and have suffered from IBS for 20 years IBS-A,B,C,D and E if there is one.

I wanted to let everyone know that eating one cup of steamed white rice everyday has changed my life. I have had one attack in the last four months and traced it to a desperate moment where I ate Wendy's. Sometimes hunger can overtake the memory and you do stupid things such as that.

God Bless any and all of you who are engaged in a battle with this disease that would bring any human being to their knees.

I eat about a cup of white rice each day too.

I usually let the rice cool a bit before eating because the cooling process produces a resistant starch that has the same properties as a soluble fiber.

1 cup of white rice has about 5 grams of resistant starch. It is a good source of soluble fiber.
