Not sure if this is the board for this. Sorry about this, I am going to drive you all nuts, I didn't want to add to the other post because the thread will be just way to long and to be honest I have a hard time keeping up. I am taking Fibercon, I am taking 2 in the morning and 2 at night. It has only been a week, not much change with the bowel movements yet but I know it will take some time, reminder I am IBS-C. It says the max is up to 4 times a day and the recommended dosage for adults is 2 tablets once a day. Now don't laugh but after reading the info on here for fiber it says take 2 tablets 6 times a day, I am confused here. If it says the max is 4 times a day do they mean take 2 tablets 4 times a day? I think the IBS is getting to my brain cells too...lol! I am trying really hard to stick with the soluble fiber and so far so good and oh my that pepermint tea is wonderful. I read that having heartburn it may be wise to delute it or not let the tea bag sit in the water for to long, well I did it and it works. I am also confused on the different names of the other teas and such, where would I go look for herbal teas?

Thank you all for being there and being supportive, I am hoping to one day be able to give some one suuport the way you all have for me!
Take care
jenn

You can take more of the fibercon. It won't hurt you. I think they have to put that on their for some reason, which I can't remember right now! lol I'm sure Heather will straighten me out.

Glad to hear the peppermint is helping you! Make sure you drink lots of teas & water to help with the C. You'll also want to make sure you get some exercise, and safely incorporate as much insoluble into your diet as possible. You can find other herbal teas in your grocery store with all the other teas. Or, if you have a health food store, you can probably find a better variety there.

I'm sure one day you'll be giving out the support...it happens to all of us!

Some one emailed me and told me they were told I should take 8 tablets 2 times a day, I am not sure about that. I am going to start taking 6 a day, 2 in the am, 2 before dinner and 2 at night. I am worried because water makes me feel like I am going to throw up, i have been this way since I can remember, I made koolaide and added a lot more water to it so for me it will be like flavored water. I woke up this morning with a stomach ache, and I did start to panick a little but it was nothing, thank god, if this is all I will have to worry about then I can start living again.

Thanks
Jenn

Hi Jenn! It's so great to see you and your precious boys again!

Have you ever tried lemon or lime in your water? I'm wondering if that might help take away the nausea? Or maybe apple cider vinegar? I know when I'm nauseaous I also can't drink water--all I can drink is flat ginger ale! LOL

I hope you feel better soon...it sounds like you're on your way! Do you feel that the fiber con is helping you? If not...there are many other fibers to try...

Let us know how we can help you out.....it's what we're here for!

*hugs*

Hi Jenn, You can find herbal teas at Safeway, Cost Cutter, or Albertsons -- any grocery store. I like Celestial Seasonings Tummy Mint (it's fennel and peppermint), but there are others. However, for the best selection go to a health food store. Safeway didn't have the Tummy Mint, so I asked them to order it for me. They're ordering a CASE for me and gave me a coupon for 'buy-one-get-one-free' -- so, since I'm buying one case, I'm getting another entire case for FREE! See if your local grocery store won't order it for you -- if there isn't a health food store near you.

By the way, I'm real glad you're doing so well. I can't help you with the Fibercon because I take acacia, which is doing wonders for me -- did you check all the other posts on this in here?

Bev

Hi Jenn,
I take up to six a day without any problems. I take three in the morning and three before supper and like you I find it hard to drink alot of water at the same time. Ruchie had a great suggestion about putting lemon in your water. Think I'll give that a try too.
Have you tried taking the powder forms of fiber supplements? I remember reading a post that powder is more effective for C, and if I'm wrong Heather will correct me.
I use tablets because of GERDS. I gag on the powder and deal with reflux for the rest of the day.

Jenn, have you given any thought to ordering some acacia from Heather? It's great stuff. It's powder, and you just toss it in your tea. It dissolves instantly and there's no taste! You don't even know you're taking it. No gagging. I just started out with a teaspoon in the morning and a teaspoon in the evening. (I used to take Citrucel, but there's not nearly enough fiber in one capsule, and I was too stupid to take two! ) Anyway, I just dissolve a teaspoon of acacia in my tummy tea. YUM. I am increasing the dosage, though, very gradually.

Also, have you thought about the instant apple cider that you get at the grocery store? It's yummy. I have some every day. You could even dissolve acacia in that! Hey -- good idea!
