Just a quick update on the Align. I am into my second week and WOW what a difference. I was about to quit the first week, I had such gas pains and bloating, but I stuck with it. I still have the A, but that gas and bloating has really been reduced or non-existent. I was very C over Christmas, but even with that the bloating was just not there. Amazing!

I am so pleased to hear that it is working for you. Some probiotics appear to be a great for helping to manage IBS.

I just ordered a two month supply of Align. I did a search in the Eating for IBS board and saw your discussion about Align and its effectiveness. I was wondering if either of you were still using Align.

I am IBS-A. I have been taking Bio-K (soy-gluten and dairy free) for almost a year now. It tastes horribly! My doctor suggested I try Align. I am a little worried about (1) how bad the gaseous symptoms are the first week (should I start it on a weekend); and (2)wondering if I need to stop the Bio-K while taking the Align.

Any feedback about Align would be much appreciated. The weather here is already getting warm and humid...not a good combo. I am watching what I eat and am trying to get as much rest as I can each night.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

I cannot get Align in Canada so I have been taking Natren Life Start which contains the same probiotic - Bifidobacterium infantis - but a different strain. I don't take it all of the time. Usually only in the autumn until the about this time of year. I stop last week.

Bio-K contains the probiotic lactobacillus acidophilus and casei which have not been shown to have any effect on IBS. It cannot hurt to take with the Align.

Some people experience more gas than others. I experienced very little. I suspect it is an individual thing and that you will not know how much it affects you until you start taking it.

Good Luck
