I take my ortho lo at 7am,and wake myself up with an alarm click, and hurry to bed, could taking it on an empty stomache be causing water mushy, hard to pass stools? Or perhaps the pain reliver I took yesterday? or maybe the whole bunch of gummi bears, twizzlers, and chocolate chips I ate?

I'd go with the junk food as the cause of your problems. Choclate is actually a trigger since it's high in fat and caffine.

BTW I usually take my BC at night before I go to bed. My worst times are usually the mornings so I felt there was a good chance that the pill was going through my system too fast. Guidelines for BC say you should rely on the pill as birth control if you have D.

I agree that it is probably the junk food that caused your problems. I would follow the directions from your dr. regarding taking the bc pill. It has been many years since I took bc but I took it at night before I went to bed.

whoops - that was a typo.

If you have D for any reason it can lessen the effectiveness of BC.

However I don't think you need to wake yourself up early to take the pill. Just take it before you go to bed. It's still effective even if you take it at a slightly different time each day.

well I just want to keep taking it at the exact same time 7am..Well I'm not sure if it was D,well maybe once that day, more like mushy or water stool..So IF I took it at 7am and never went to the bathroom if I have any D,then its less effective?! does mushy or watery stool count as D?
