anti biotics ?

Does anyone else get loose movments and a little bit of cramping when on anti biotics ? im on them for a bladder infection and im on my second course ( had 3 days already but doc said i needed another 3 days) - i havent got diareah but im going more than normal and they fairly loose :O/

That's a common reaction for me when I take any antibiotics. As it was explained to me, the antibiotics are generally prescribed to kill bacteria that cause us infections (for example). The antibiotics also kill the good bacteria we need in our bodies that help us properly digest our food.

You can try a probiotic (as opposed to an antibiotic) to counter the effect of losing the good bacteria. Acidophilus is the name of one here in the States. Any well-stocked pharmacy should sell them.

If you only have three more days worth of antibiotics, it's probably too late for the probiotics to help you, but keep this in mind for the future.

thankyou - i have had to have second lot of anti biotics as the infection didnt subside - so am on the last day of those now - hopefully it will get sorted !! my tum isnt happy lol
