Happy Thanksgiving!! I was wondering if anyone has heard of the . I was on the IBS diet for 3 months and I was still really bloated and gassy all the time. I began talking to a dietician who highly reccommends this test for me. I am getting it done on monday and I was just curious about any of your imput. Thanks!

The mediator release test or LEAP (Lifestyle Eating and Performance) test is listed as a dubious blood test on Quackwatch. I could not find a reference to this test on any credible hospital or university research site. Also, I cannot find any research papers published in reputable medical journals on this test. Also on page 3 of this SelectHealth insurance it states about insurance coverage for this test is "Deny as investigational due to lack of evidence to support statistical validity and clinical utility"
It doesn't look like this test is any given any credence by the medical community.

Thats interesting because every website I have looked at besides quackwatch highly supported it. I found many doctors, GI specialists, and dieticians who highly supported it. I am definitly getting it done and I will let all of you know how it goes!

I would be interested in reading the supportive comments by doctors particularly GI specialists. Would you please post the links to web sites with these favourable comments.
Good luck with your test
