Is hummus a safe IBS snack?

Such as spread on some sour dough bread?

I've always found it to be safe as chick peasa are high in SF and they've been pureed. I usually make my own as store bought stuff can be high in fat and has too much garlic for my DH. Store bought stuff is OK though so long as I only have two TBS with a white pita or some sourdough. There's also quite a variety out there so be sure to compare the labels. There's a recipe in the cook book and a few on the index if you want to make your own.

I eat hummus on a regular basis. I eat a brand called "Tribe Roasted Red Pepper Hummus". Its really good and I can find it at my local grocery store. I eat it with baked tostitos.

So can you just take can chickpeas and puree them and make a hummus thats safe..

I guess so but it would taste better with some paprika and lemon juice. Include a little minced garlic if you can tolerate it. I found putting in about 4 tablespoons of the juice from the can makes the blending easier and you end up with a nice smooth paste.
