Sorry! I forgot to check at home last night! I can sorta picture the package in my head, but can't remember... I know it says "Vegan" in big letters on the front. But they actually make American and Cheddar flavors and are quite good for grilled cheese! They even melt!

Veganrella and Vegan Gourmet. Both of those are good brands. I use both and dont have any problems with them. My husband even thinks they taste pretty good. And yes... they do melt! The only places I have found them at has been Whole Foods and Health Food Stores.

You mean when you make grilled cheese with the Vegan Gourmet cheese slices, it doesn't melt? Well, sometimes I stick my sandwich (after I grill it) in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the cheese even more!

I checked at home. The ones I use are made by Galaxy Foods, they're wrapped in purple, and it says "Vegan" on the front ("American" flavor). Make the grilled cheese like normal, but keep the heat a little lower than normal, so the cheese has more time to melt. Don't cook it too fast. When it's nice and brown on both sides, put it in the microwave for ~10 seconds or so. The cheese will melt.
