I saw jenny-o turkey hot dogs at the store and was wondering if these were safe they only have 2 grams of fat. I don't really care for hot dogs but I need a change! Thanks

I've tried the Applegate Farms turkey dogs which are also very low fat, as well as being nitrite and additive free. They still gave me horrendous gas and indigestion. I believe it's something about the way they are cured.

My advice is proceed at your own risk! Maybe others will chime in who have had better luck, though.

Jennie-O Turkey Franks contain a variety of things including sodium nitrate which can be a problem for some IBSers. However, these turkey dogs contain 5 gram of fat (15% by weight). Are these the same as the turkey dogs you saw that had 2 grams of fat?

Applegate Farm Turkey Dogs are uncured and contain spices, onion and garlic. The onion and garlic might have been the problem.
