This is my first post in a very long time..I was basically in remission (big thanks to 2 years on low dose Wellbutrin) for several years but now it's back with a vengence. A big part of my job is eating out--at least three times a week. I'm in a cycle where it doesn't matter how safe the food is, I get sick at every business lunch. My brain and gut seem stuck on repeating this pattern and it's a problem. Any tips? I'm at the point where I'm doing immodium before every single lunch and then suffering after when i can't get my body back into rythym, even taking the fiber suppliments. Help! I don't want to go back on the Wellbutrin because I had side effects.

What are you eating at your business lunches? Are you still following Heather's diet?
I don't eat out as much as you, but it is required for my job too - about once or twice a month. I always try to know where we are going ahead of time. Then I check the internet for the menus if possible so I can decide what I would want to eat. Or I go by the restaurant a day or two ahead of time to read the menu.

I usually end up with some sort of grilled chicken wrap or sandwich. And I always tell the server I'm allergic to dairy so no cheese, etc. I will ask to speak to the cook if I can't get satisfaction from the server. I get any dressings or sauces on the side. Then I don't usually use them and avoid the hidden dairy and high fat that is in them. I almost always take Bentylol before I eat out to prevent my tum from spasming as much. I order water to drink. And I eat 1/2 of the portion served to me and take home the rest. This way I am not over eating which can also trigger an attack.

If it is a long lunch I request a cup of hot water and I bring my own peppermint tea in case the restaurant doesn't have it.

So far so good for me. I have had a couple of uneasy afternoons because of eating out, but nothing like a full blown attack that I was accustomed to 4 - 5 times a day for two years.

Hope this helps!!
