I'm just starting to eat healther and so just realized there is an organic health food store near me. I bought a few things to try out, but they gave me a small packet of hemp seed.

I looked it up (it came with a flier but wanted to double check it) and it "sounds" great, BUT it sounds like it would cause problems for me (IBS-D). Am I assuming correctly?

I don't know for sure but I personally would treat them like flax seeds - they're great for you, but high in oil and IF. Can you maybe grind them and add them to oatmeal?

I used to eat ground flax in my oatmeal every morning but then when I started the EFI diet I stopped. Do you eat them? I would like to start again bc they are so good for you.

I never had either of those. I didn't think about grinding them. MMMM I'll think about that.

I think I want to grind them (these were free, so next time I'll for already ground ones), but how much do I put in say oatmeal?

I would just do a light sprinkle until you know how well you tolerate it. Maybe half a tbsp?

If you are talking about hemp hearts (shelled hemp seeds), they are already very soft and chewable and do not need to be ground up like flax seeds. I often sprinkle them on salads or stirfries.
