From what I gather, the only ones I know of are mangoes, papayas and bananas. Bananas for some reason make me very ill, and I'm trying to eat locally, so mangoes and papayas are out, as amazing as they are.

I hear peaches and pears are possibly okay? What about raw apples? Anything I'm missing?

Good for you for trying to eat locally!! It's hard sometimes, when you see all of the tropical fruits in the grocery store, isn't it?

For some, peeled peaches, pears, and apples are safe. Some others have problems with fructose (in the pears and apples) or the sorbitol (in the peaches). Unfortunately, it's going to be a bit of trial and error to see what works for your body.

I can say for me, bananas are not safe. They cause me C and gas.

I stick with berries of any kind, nectarines (with peel), kiwi, pineapple...

Winter time is harder. I'm not sure of apples, or peaches or papayas or mangos or...

Fruits that are SF like the ones you mentioned, are recommended in higher volume and on an empty stomach. Apples and other higher fructose fruits are IF and should not be eaten on an empty stomach, but are generally considered okay if eaten w/out peeling and w/a good serving of SF. So for example, a rice cake w/some peanut butter along with an apple that has been peeled would be okay based on Heather's plan.
Fruits in general bother me and as much as I wanted also to eat locally and seasonally, I am not able to do that and neither are my kids. It frustrates me, but it just doesn't work. We generally eat bananas (never local in the US), mangoes (ditto),pineapple, apple, and blueberries. They also eat strawberries and raspberries blended into smoothies and tofu-based puddings.

if I was sensitive to fructose or the sorbital in fruit how would I know? Or would I definitly notice? I dont think I am but I am just starting out and it seems like I am always sensitive to what I least expect.

For me, this was manifesting as bloating, lots of gas, and occasionally my colon actually seizing up.
