Just thought I would pass the word along that if you have a Meijer's grocery store near you they carry their own brand of baked tortilla chips. For those of you like me that miss the old Tostitoes baked these measure up really well. 20 chips are 2 grams of fat and they contain whole grain corn, corn oil, and salt. I am in heaven because I don't like the baked scoops that Tostitoes make and Kroger stopped carrying the Guiltless Gourmet brand.

That's good to know in case I need chips next time I visit my folks. Alas, we don't have Meijer in my area, but I stop in everytime I go to Michigan.

What about guacomole or salsa or sprinkle them with some rice or soy cheese and nuke them for a quick nacho? Why can't you have hummus? I know the store brands can be higher in fat but there are some great recipes in the index to make your own.

I have tried making my own hummus and I don't do well with chickepeas. As far as salsa the green peppers and onions tears my stomach up. Wish I could I miss salsa so much! Thanks for the help anyway.

Let me look for my recipe. I dont use cilantro and you don't have to add onions.I'll get back to you when I find mine recipe. It's super easy and I think you could adapt it to suit your likes. My sis inlaw adds corn BARF! but my recipe is simple.

I like mine with Tufutti "sour cream" that I mix with a bit of taco seasoning to add some flavour - like taco dip.

Mmmmm.... Yummy.... Now I'm hungry! And it's almost an hour til lunch!
