Hi,
My family doctor just put me on 50 mg of Zoloft today. I will start taking it in the morning.
Is anyone else on this? If so, please tell me your side effects and if it helped your IBS at all.
Thanks!

Yes, I take 50mg per day as well. I've been taking that for about 7-8 years now. In the sense that it has helped control my depression and anxiety, thereby helping my IBS. When I'm depressed and having anxiety, my IBS gets really bad. Without the Zoloft, I would cry a lot, feel like I was shaking on the inside. This would cause frequent D and dry heaving. I definitely do much better on it, than off.
I didn't experience any side-effects from the Zoloft. Good luck to you...

Valerie,
Thank you very much for your post. I asked because I don't trust these worthless so-called doctors at all.
I wish God would make a way for me OUT of IBS right frickin' NOW!!!

I took Zoloft 2 years ago. No side effects (except everyone enjoyed being around me more). I stopped because I don't like the idea of taking drugs, but it's taken 2 years of counseling to get me to a place where i'm as 'un-stressed' as I was on the Zoloft.

Thanks MagzieM. I also don't want to be on this forever.
I have noticed that my stress and anger levels are much less on Zoloft. I think it has indirectly helped my IBS too. The last 6 months I have been unemployed so obviously this is a biggie. I am praying things get better for me soon!
