does anyone know if whole grain oats are safe to eat?
I posted a couple days ago and no one has answered...anyone know? I bought some nature valley granola bars that contain whole grain oats- has anyone had problems with these?

I can't tolerate whole grain at all ... but some might be able to. Let us know how you do.

I can eat these granola bars one bar at a time. Sometimes I will crumble one up over sliced bananas and mangoes!

Oats contain both kinds of fiber so they are safe for most. They can cause gas like emmasmom says. Hub gets gas from oatmeal, granola bars and granola, especially when hiking, since he doesn't eat that stuff very often.

I used to eat that brand of Granola bar all the time until I finally realized they were triggering bloating and gas and sometimes a full on IBS attack. I don't know if it was the HFCS or the combination of HFCS and sugar, but I had to stop eating them all together.
