Hi everyone-

I've been using magnesium oxide for about two years now, and it's the ONLY thing that works for me. It works VERY well, but I have to take it in large doses every morning. I take about 1600 mg of it at once, and it works within the hour. It's great that it has my digestive system moving, because I was only having a bowel movement about once a month, but I'm worried that I've become too dependent, and that i'm taking it at too high of a dose. Could it be doing damage? Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks

I have IBS (mostly C) and I have found Mg Oxide to be very helpful as well. However I only take 300-600 mg before bed. I worry too about long-term effects but for now it is helping me regain some sanity in life.

What happens if you try a lower dose? Might be worth a try. 1600 mg seems like a lot to me.
